This policy explains how VisageID collects, uses, shares, and protects data when you use the app on Android and iOS.
By using the app, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Data We Collect
We collect the minimum data needed to provide features and improve reliability.
- Photos you select for processing in the app.
- Technical data such as device type, OS version, and app version.
- Non-personal diagnostics like crash logs and performance metrics.
- Purchase/subscription status from app stores; we do not store card details.
3. Permissions
We request only permissions required for core app functions.
- Camera: to capture ID or passport photos directly.
- Photos/Media: to select an existing image and save generated outputs.
4. How We Use Data
Data is used only for the following purposes:
- Generate ID/passport photos that match size and background requirements.
- Improve app stability, performance, and bug resolution.
- Validate subscription state and unlock paid features when applicable.
- Respond to support requests you send to us.
5. Image and Face Data Processing
Photos are used only to generate ID/passport-ready outputs. The current background-removal provider is LightXEditor, and images are securely transmitted only for that operation and returned as output.
We do not use photos for personal identity recognition and we do not build a persistent biometric template.
6. Data Sharing with Third Parties
Limited data may be shared with service providers required to operate the app:
- Image-processing providers (such as LightXEditor) for background removal.
- App stores (Google Play and Apple App Store) for payments and subscriptions.
- Analytics/crash providers to diagnose issues and improve performance.
- Regulatory or legal authorities when required by law.
7. Data Retention
We retain data only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy or to comply with legal obligations.
Generated final photos are typically stored on your device or in locations you explicitly choose.
8. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
No electronic transmission or storage method is 100% secure.
9. International Transfers
Some data may be processed by infrastructure or providers located outside your country, depending on the services used.
10. Your Rights and Choices
You can manage your data through the following options:
- Delete photos and generated outputs from your device at any time.
- Revoke app permissions from your device settings (camera/photos).
- Contact us for privacy requests or questions.
11. Children's Privacy
The app is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
